Workshop on the Future of Education: Beyond Publication—Digital Transformation, Research Integrity, and Impact
I had the pleasure of moderating a workshop at the Future of Education 2025 on Friday, 18 July 2025.
During the session, I delivered a presentation titled "Beyond Publication: Digital Transformation, Integrity, and Impact in Research."
The presentation explored how digital transformation is reshaping the landscape of educational research publication. It emphasised a shift from quantity-driven outputs toward long-term visibility and meaningful impact, underscoring the importance of integrity, originality, and quality. Key topics included research ethics, the dangers of predatory journals, and the role of tools such as the Research Integrity Risk Index (RI²). The session encouraged researchers to focus on producing work that is not only published but also valued, trusted, and impactful.
